I feel like I am getting slightly closer to figuring out a few specifics regarding my Capstone topic of houseplants. This week was nice because we had time to review our feedback on our faculty presentations. I received three very helpful suggestions and comments. I was told that my presentation was very clear and informative. I was also told to start gathering my content this semester, that way next spring I can focus on the fun stuff. I think the feedback I received has helped me find what specifics I want to focus on in my guide as well as how to gather the information. Just yesterday, I began my first dive into primary research. I created a survey to send out into a facebook group, whose main focus is houseplants. I feel that I asked a wide range of questions in the survey that will help me figure out what I specifically should include in my houseplant guide, based on what my audience truly needs and wants. I am planning on sending out that survey this weekend so I have time to review the responses I get. Next week, I am planning on doing a little bit of secondary research, which might include going to the library and seeing what kinds of books there are on houseplants. Overall, I feel that this week has been going on a nice pace and I feel less stressed about Capstone as a whole. I am excited to see what I learn in the beginning stages of my research!
