Weekly Capstone Entry 4

What a short but insightful week it has been! This week, we were asked to create a rough draft presentation of our capstone topic that we are most excited about. Last week, I decided I was most excited about my plant field guide topic the most so I continued with that topic for this rough draft presentation. However, while filling in the template for the presentation, I realized that a plant field guide felt a little broad and I thought I should maybe try to make it about something more specific that still has to do with plants. I decided to change my topic a little bit and go with houseplants! I feel that I could include more topics of information with this new and refined capstone subject and I feel even more excited about it now. It will still be a physical book and is still about plants, I just wanted a more specific field of plants to focus on. I thought that creating the presentation this week really allowed me to explore more of what this topic could be as far as constraints and outcomes. I think I still need to think more about a possible higher level concept that is connected to my outcomes though. I feel like climate change could be a possibility but I’m not too sure how I would connect that to houseplants so I think I need to do a little more research. But for now, I am waiting to hear back from faculty on my presentation so I can get more feedback and refine my topic even more!
